Summer of 2011 will have many changes for our small family. Adam pursued a new job that is moving our family to McKinney, Texas. Starting June 1, he is working for Traxxas. And if a move isn't a big enough change already, we are expecting a baby girl due July 19. Alexa already loves "baby sister"! We feel strongly that God has been clear on His plans for us and that makes us so excited for what is in our near future. As we are (sadly) leaving many amazing, amazing friends and family in Kansas, we felt it was important to start the blog back up so we can keep everyone in the loop. Thank you all for your never ending support on this adventure for our growing family!

More HUGE Progress

Since the last time I posted Alexa's "HUGE" event, she has done that two more times. I actually saw her do it while she was playing, get from laying into sitting. She made it look so easy! I know that it's just going to take some repetition and she'll have it down. She also did it in front of Grandma and Grandpa Ewing while they were visiting this weekend.

And then...

Yesterday... HAPPY FATHER'S DAY DADDY... Alexa was playing on her tummy; she got into hands and knees (which she is just barely starting to do) for a couple minutes. Then she rolled around and got back into hands and knees for a few minutes and THEN she pushed herself into sitting from that position!! HUGE! That was so awesome! The other times that she got into sitting was from her side laying. Anyway, she is making HUGE progress and we are just thanking GOD for all this! Way to go Alexa!!!

Forgot a Picture

I forgot to add this picture in the previous post. It's one of my favorites of Adam and I so why not add it. :)

Oklahoma City Trip, part two

Ok, finally, here are most the pictures from our trip to Oklahoma City. I have just one or two left to get from someone else that is of Alexa and Aunt Teddi after Teddi's last game. There were so many good pictures, it was hard to exclude very many, so this post will have a lot of pictures. Hope you enjoy! Alexa looks more and more like a toddler every day!

This was the first morning after we arrived in OKC. We went to the girls' hotel so they could all see Alexa. She was pretty popular. Although, she wasn't so sure what to think right away.

So excited to see Aunt Teddi... it's been way too long.

We had lunch at the Elephant Bar.

It took us several attempts to get this picture. Alexa wasn't too thrilled about the glasses.

-
Long day already...

-
Still happy to see Aunt Teddi.

She gave Aunt Teddi lots of kisses!

Alexa enjoyed the water on the hot day.

She fell asleep while we were visited the Oklahoma City bombing memorial.

Lounging with Grandpa by the hotel pool. Checking out her cool leg. :)

It was a great trip.

-
Alexa was putting her feet in the pool with Mommy, Grandma, Great-Grandma, and some of her Great Aunts.

We ate at a fabulous Mexican restaurant called Ted's. Excellent food, excellent service, awesome place. They told us that they're hoping to put one in Wichita in the next couple years!!

Alexa took many cute pictures at lunch!

Alexa did it! I don't know exactly how she did it, but she got from laying to sitting all by herself! HUGE! HUGE progress! Sounds small, but that's HUGE! She was rolling around playing and I turn around to check on her and she was sitting!! I'm so happy!!

(The rest of the pictures from the OKC trip, coming very soon... I cut my hand a week and half ago really bad, so it's been hard to get motivated to type with one hand. Will get them up soon!)

Oklahoma City Trip, part one

We had a great time in Oklahoma City. We watched some great softball games and enjoy some nice quality time with family. Alexa's Aunt Teddi played some amazing ball and ended her softball career with some awesome plays and hits. Way to go Aunt Teddi!!

I guess I was too preoccupied packing Alexa's bag each day so that I wouldn't forget anything, that I did forget my camera every day. Luckily, there were several others who did have their cameras and took pictures for us. I just have to wait for those pictures to post them, so there will probably be 3 or 4 separate posts from our trip. I will include the stories with the pictures as they are posted. And by the way, Alexa was the MVP of the tournament. Wow, she was amazing. She didn't go to bed before midnight Wednesday through Saturday and barely napped 1-2 hours per day but she was still a very very good child!

Here is a great family picture after the last game on Saturday.

Here is Alexa on ESPN! The first game Michigan played Alabama and won 8-1. Way to go! It was a fun game to watch. On this clip, first it is Madison (Stephanie Kirkpatrick's niece) and then the cameraman turns to focus on Alexa. Alexa is wearing her "Teddi's Biggest Fan" t-shirt.
