Summer of 2011 will have many changes for our small family. Adam pursued a new job that is moving our family to McKinney, Texas. Starting June 1, he is working for Traxxas. And if a move isn't a big enough change already, we are expecting a baby girl due July 19. Alexa already loves "baby sister"! We feel strongly that God has been clear on His plans for us and that makes us so excited for what is in our near future. As we are (sadly) leaving many amazing, amazing friends and family in Kansas, we felt it was important to start the blog back up so we can keep everyone in the loop. Thank you all for your never ending support on this adventure for our growing family!

Getting Ready

Alexa is getting ready to go cheer on some Wolverines, especially her favorite Wolverine, Aunt Teddi. The University of Michigan Softball made it to the Women's College World Series this year and we're so excited because they play that in Oklahoma City, which is really close to us! Teddi is a senior this year and this will be the first time that Alexa gets to watch her play. Alexa is EXCITED! :) Adam and I made her some t-shirts to wear (a few extra so if she gets food all over, it's ok) and I even found some navy and maize ribbons for her to wear. Be sure to check back next week for some pictures of Alexa cheering on Aunt Teddi. Oh and you can be looking for us in the stands. All the games should be on ESPN. Michigan's first game is Thursday at 6:00. GO AUNT TEDDI

New Move

Here's Alexa's new move that we are very proud of. She has difficulties transitioning in between positions. She has just figured out how to go from sitting to laying without just falling. Yeah! I know this may seem small and silly to get excited about but it is a huge deal for us. She would never kick the leg out to the side like that. She keeps learning for us!!
-
So here she is trying to get my shoelace.
-
Just ignore the watery eyes and nose (her allergies are terrible today) and yes, that is breakfast on her too small onesie. :)

Big Smile!!

Alexa Jo and Aunt Anna Jo

Aunt Anna came to visit Alexa (and us) for a couple days before she heads off to Florida for the summer. Alexa had a fabulous time playing and being silly with her. We made sure to get a few pictures before she left. Have fun on your trip Aunt Anna!

Here's Alexa being shy. She does this a lot! She'll smile real big and then hide.

Here's a good one with big smiles!

Case Skid Steer, part 2

I wanted to include a full picture of the Case Skid Steer. Some people don't know what exactly I'm talking about, so I figured I'd post it so you can get the whole picture in your head of where Alexa was sitting. :)
-
No, that is not Adam driving in the picture. Although that's all he does at work is drive around in one of these (just kidding), this is actually a picture off of their website.

Case Skid Steer

Tonight at the Riverfest, CNH (Case New Holland) put on a Buckaroo kids event. Alexa wasn't quite ready to participate in any of the activities, but maybe next year! CNH did have several Skid Steers on display so we made sure to take a picture of Daddy and Alexa in one. (Adam is a New Product Design Engineer at CNH, so these are the products he works on!)
-
Here's a cute picture of Alexa and Daddy!
-
Alexa is checking out the inside. She's ready to drive away.

-
This picture will soon be the desktop picture at Adam's work computer. HOW CUTE?!

Treadmill Therapy

Today was our second week of treadmill therapy for Alexa. We will be doing it once a week for 10 minutes a time for three months. This is to help her learn to walk. Normally, on the first time, the child starts to cry after 2-3 minutes. Not Alexa, she's a star! Last week, she did the entire ten minutes with no problems. This week, she did the whole ten minutes again. This therapy isn't too common around here so I figured I'd take some pictures so everyone knows what we're talking about.
-
Here Alexa is getting strapped in.

-
As you can see, Alexa is enjoying it!

-
Now let's actually work it.
-
While at PT, we tried her on a modified tricycle. Alexa really enjoyed it too! We would stop and ask her if she wanted more and immediately she would sign "more".
-
She's looking pretty tired, but she was a trooper!

Late Nights

Oh my, it has been an interesting week. Our trip to Kansas City really messed up Alexa's routine this week. Plus, Alexa had treadmill therapy on Wednesday (will take a picture next week to show) and hydrotherapy on Thursday, so she's been so worn out. Therefore, she's so tired that she just is too tired to sleep I guess. Makes for some very cranky afternoons when she doesn't want to go to bed at night. Last night, she didn't actually fall asleep until midnight or so. Wednesday night, she didn't go to bed until 10:30. The pictures below are from Wednesday night. We were so tired of trying to get her to calm down and go to sleep, we said "Fine, you can play for a while." She was so slap-happy! It was actually kind of funny so I had to take some pictures.
-
She tries to put everything on her foot. And look, she's still grinning.
-
Look at that silly smile. She is soooo tired and soooo loopy! (She drools a lot when she's tired too.)
-
Alexa has recently learned to clap! She's cheering on her Aunt Teddi while mommy and daddy are watching the recording of her games against Ohio State. GO AUNT TEDDI!

Doggy Post

We don't say much about Miss Matty anymore, so here's a little post for her. We rarely take pictures of her but this was a pretty cute one. Since we're still working on the new section of fence between us and our neighbor, Matty and our neighbor dog Molly are becoming quite friendly. They were just hanging out together the other day. Oh and I will mention something about Alexa since this is her blog. Alexa thinks Molly is the funniest. Whenever Molly comes to say hi or sits on our deck so Alexa can see, Alexa just laughs and laughs and laughs. It is pretty cute! Thanks Molly for the entertainment.
-
Oh and one last thing... We have figured out that Alexa just loves golden colored dogs. We played a dvd on our trip the other day that showed dogs. Whenever a golden colored dog showed up, Alexa just smiled and giggled. The black dogs... she didn't really seem to care. I shouldn't exclude the white dogs though. Alexa does love to see Sugar when we visit her!
